PRL-8-53 review /What is PRL-8-53 ?
PRL-8-53, the newest nootropic, also known by its chemical name Methyl 3-[2-[benzyl(methyl)amino]ethyl]benzoate is a synthetic nootropic supplement. It was developed in the 1970′s by Dr. Nikolaus Hansl at Creighton University in Nebraska. It has had some human studies which showed positive responses in cognitive function. One study showed that the compound could help retrieve lost memories (hypermnesia).
How Does PRL-8-53 Work?
PRL-8-53 is derived from the combination of benzoic acid and phenylmethylamine. The chemical structure formed from the combination of these two compounds results in a compound that can interact with cholinergic receptors, which are involved in modulating memory and learning processes within the brain. PRL-8-53 is also known to potentiate (increase the effect of) dopamine and partially inhibit serotonin receptors. Dr. Nikolaus Hansl believed that this effect profile would likely lead to a shift of the balance in CNS neurotransmitter systems and lead to improved intellectual functioning.
There has only been one human clinical study preformed to evaluate the effects of the drug and it showed an improvement in verbal memory, visual reaction time and motor control, especially in those over the age of 30. Older people tend to be more subject to memory and cognitive decline, therefore, memory and cognitive enhancing supplements tend to work better on them.
PRL-8-53 benefits/functions :
- Enhance mental intelligence
- Boost memory and leaning capabilities
- Improve brain power to solve problems and protect it from any chemical or physical injury
- Enhance motivation level
- Enhance the control of cortical/subcortical brain mechanism
- Improve sensory perception
PRL-8-53 Recommended dosage and side effects
The patent information available for PRL 8-53 suggests a range of 0.01-4mg/kg of bodyweight. However, as that is a very large range, the ideal range is 0.05-1.2 mg/kg . This translates to 3.4mg-81.6mg for a 150 pound person and 4.55mg-109mg for a 200 pound person. In the human trial, no side effects were recorded; however, reduced motor activity was noted in mice and rats when given large doses of PRL 8-53
